NFL 2024/2025, Week 15 results and updated rankings

The Sunday of Week 15 della Regular Season NFL 2024/2025 cthe official delivery while three other teams qualified for the playoffs scheduled for next month. In the AFC Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans reach Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills, while in the NFC the Minnesota Vikings are sure to keep company with the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles. A shift that leads us to have even greater certainty about who will receive the league’s MVP award at the end of the season: there is a clear favourite, it’s Josh Allen and he tends to reiterate it every week. The Buffalo Bills quarterback was the protagonist of another magical evening, this time on the difficult pitch of the Detroit Lions in what was undoubtedly the most anticipated match of the day. True, the hosts have been dealing with multiple absences in defense in recent weeks, but Allen was once again almost perfect after the already memorable performance nine days ago in Los Angeles against the Rams. 362 passing yards with 2 touchdowns, 68 rushing yards with the same number of TDs. 494 yards and 5 TD passes were not enough for an excellent Jared Goff: the final score was 42-48 in favor of the Bills.

THE FRAMEWORK TOWARDS THE PLAYOFFS

The situation in the AFC is quite clear, with the Texans having prevailed against the Dolphins and the Steelers also qualified for the postseason despite the defeat against the Eagles. And even the Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers already have one foot in the playoffs, given that those chasing do so are quite far away. But watch out for Patrick Mahomes: the QB of the reigning champions Kansas City Chiefs left early during the victory against Cleveland due to a bad ankle sprain and will have to stay in the box for a few weeks.

The scenarios in the NFC are decidedly more intriguing, particularly in the NFC West, where the Los Angeles Rams have regained the lead over the Seattle Seahawks with an 8-6 record. Matthew Stafford and his teammates changed gear once receivers Nacua and Kupp recovered from their respective injuries and now Seattle also risks losing its starting QB Geno Smith, who was out with a knee injury in the SNF against the Packers. In the NFC South, Baker Mayfield’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers take another step forward, while the Lions’ defeat opens the door for the Minnesota Vikings to win the NFC North.
