NFL: Chicago Bears part ways with head coach

The Chicago Bears have not had success in the NFL this season in crucial situations. Now the bosses are reacting – the coach has to go!

One day after the botched final phase against Detroit, the Chicago Bears parted ways with head coach Matt Eberflus.

Eberflus was in charge of the club for just over two years. During this time he had a record of 14 wins and 32 losses in the NFL. This season in particular, the Bears often lost after questionable decisions in the final stages. Like on Thursday when they lost 20:23 in a nationally broadcast game against the Detroit Lions.

The poor communication against the Lions meant that the equalizer or possible victory was no longer possible: the clock was running down. And that even though the team still had a timeout left.

Eberflus’ successor as interim head coach is Thomas Brown, who was previously responsible for the offensive.
