Norte de Santander archery showed its talent in the Táchira tournament

The sporting activity of the Norte de Santander Leagues It continues a few days before the end of the year, spending the last physical remains and starting the new year with fresh oxygen.

The Liga archery player participated over the weekend in a binational tournament, in Saint Christopher with a good group of athletes in the Sub-15, Sub-18, Sub-21 and older categories obtaining good results, but above all gaining experience.

Vásquez explained that for some time they had wanted to attend tournaments in the neighboring country, however, due to circumstances they had not been able to do so, but now the idea is to take advantage of these close spaces and practice as often as possible.

“This event we were in Venezuela, the Táchira Archery Association organized it as the end of the year, but we understand that it was a selective for the Venezuela team and in this case they invited us and we, with the desire to participate for a long time, went and competed, clarifying that there were two types of events, one that was national character and the other a binational one, which opens the doors for us to go compete and which will contribute a lot to the progress of our athletes. The blanking is a fundamental part,” said Vásquez.

Good experience

In relation to the exam that the Venezuelan archers, Diego Vásquez He said it was quite positive.

“Our participation was quite good even though some states did not attend due to economic situations. In our case we face the delegations of Carabobo, Táchira and Bolívar among others.

In sport adapted (for archery) Since there were no athletes, they included us in the conventional recurve modality, where we attended with a mixed team in Sub-18achieving first place, with Diana Galindo and Julián. Individually, a silver medal with Julián Peña and with Laura Navarro the bronze medal.”

According to other categories in U-15, Valeria Coronel and Yeremy Barragán participated, Valeria had to be included in the men’s event, achieving the gold medal and her teammate Yeremy the silver.

Regarding the results in the compound bow modality, the strength of the Norte Santander archers, in the Under-21 category Moisés Parada and Juan Diego Osoriothe most outstanding was Parada when he won the silver medal and Osorio, although he had a good performance, placed in fourth place.

In the same category, individual ladies, Diana Galindo won the bronze, and in mixed together with Moisés Parada they won the silver medal.

After the results, coach Diego Vásquez stressed that “those were the athletes who participated and obtained their medal, but beyond anything, it is an experience for us as a department, and as a league, to open those check-up spaces that will be very useful to us.” in the future (to continue improving). Regarding the general balance of the season, the coach was satisfied with what was done in the different national tournaments.

“We did quite well, speaking of the Youth National and Paranational Games. We achieved a silver medal with Mauricio Ardila and fourth place in the classification. In adapted sports we obtained two golds with Duván Peralta, a silver and a bronze with Ángel Darío Leal,” Diego Vásquez stressed.
