It’s difficult to win a basketball game by only scoring 58 points. A week after having achieved a festival in Charleroi (victory 92 to 62), Friborg Olympic traveled to Ludwigsburg (north-east of Stuttgart): with only 41% success on shots, Thibaut Petit’s players this time – heavily inclined against those who occupy 7th place in the German championship.

If Olympic lacked skill for its 2nd match of the 2nd round of the FIBA Europe Cup, the Fribourgeois also multiplied the number of lost balls: 21 in total! Facing taller and stronger Germans, the reigning Swiss champions suffered physically: 49 rebounds to 33 for Ludwigsburg.

In the other group match, the Belgians from Charleroi created a surprise this Wednesday by winning in Poland against Anwil (82 to 91). As a reminder, the first two in each group will qualify for the rest of the competition: there are still 4 days to go. Olympic will travel to Poland on January 8.
But before this European deadline, it’s time for the championship and the Swiss Cup: with a trip to Birsfelden on Saturday to face the Starwings before welcoming Geneva on Wednesday to the Saint-Léonard hall for a highly anticipated round of 16 of the Swiss Cup.
