Oneil Cruz will be designated in his first four games with Licey

Oneil Cruz will enter the roster this week, he would begin to act as a designated hitter and is scheduled to travel with Licey to Puerto Rico for the two-game series they will play against the Águilas, as announced this Monday by Audo Vicente, Operations Manager of the blue team

Vicente maintained that at least in the first four games the player who plays in the Major Leagues with the Pirates will do so in that role and then it will be an option for the manager, whether he places him in the center field or the shortstop.

Audo carried out an almost complete x-ray of the blue team in the Diamante Deportivo program, which is produced from Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on the Voice of the Armed Forces.

During his intervention, he maintained that relievers Carlos Vargas and Enyel de los Santos entered the roster this Monday, while they are negotiating permission from their team for Luis Henríquez, also a reliever, to pitch at least 10 innings with Licey.

Jorge Alfaro is another who would join the Licey roster this week, after playing a couple of games in the Parallel League.

While Miguel Andújar said that they hope to be given the go-ahead so that he can act, while Mel Rojas is resolving some personal commitments.

César Valdez expressed that he is now much better from his groin problems and could rejoin the team soon.

While the hiring of Leonys Martin responds to the team’s need for a left-handed bat with the ability to help in the middle part of the lineup.

For his part, he announced that Ronny Mauricio will not wear the Licey shirt at least this year, since he has had two surgeries and the best thing for him will be to remain completely rested.

“His injury last year shook us all, unfortunately he has not been able to play and for him the best thing is that he rest and recover fully,” Vicente told the sports space.

In the case of Juan Francisco, the team was interested in him saying goodbye to Dominican baseball with the Licey uniform, but the player is not contemplating retirement at the moment.
