Onyeka Okongwu suffers an injury to his left knee

Onyeka Okongwu will miss at least the Atlanta Hawks’ next four games. As reported by the Georgia franchise, the center suffers from inflammation in his left knee for which he will be re-evaluated next week, and will remain on the sidelines of the team until then.

Acting as Clint Capela’s substitute, Okongwu is having the best season of his career on a statistical level, a trend that he hopes this injury does not put a stop to. In the 25 games played so far he averages 11.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists, numbers with which, together with his defense, he is helping Atlanta become one of the positive surprises of this start of the season. .

Without him, Quinn Snyder will have to pull from the bottom of the rotation to complete his interior game, presumably turning to Larry Nance Jr. who had run out of minutes in recent weeks. Tonight’s visit to the San Antonio Spurs will allow us to see how the Hawks coach adjusts his quintets, who, after the defeat in the Cup semifinals, seek to continue climbing to the noble positions in the East and fight for a direct access place to playoffs.
