Our Papendallers delivered great performances again in November. From Para Snowboard to badminton and handball: here is an overview of the past month!
Bronze at the EJK Badminton in Ibiza
Our young badminton players made the Netherlands proud during the team tournament of the European Youth Championship in Ibiza. The Dutch team took third place at the tournament. They played an exciting quarter-final against Romania, which was decided in a nerve-wracking final match. Sterre Bang and Inger Pothuize eventually won. In the semi-finals, the Netherlands met title favorite Denmark, who unfortunately turned out to be too strong. However, Flora Wang provided a highlight by winning her singles match. Now the focus is on the individual tournament.
Two silver medals!
The Para snowboard season has started! Chris Vos and Lisa Bunschoten shone during the first Para Snowboard World Cup and European Cup banked slalom of the year. Both managed to get two silver medals. A fantastic start to the season!
European Handball Championships in Innsbruck: a convincing start
The TeamNL Handball Ladies have convincingly qualified for the Main Round of the European Championships. In an exciting group stage they managed to achieve victories over both Iceland and Germany. The win against our Eastern neighbors in particular gave the young team confidence. The group stage ended with a resounding victory over Ukraine: 23-43. The Dutch team will play its next match on Thursday, December 5 at 6:00 PM in Vienna against Slovenia.
