A tradition of Parma Calcio towards its young fans who are going through difficult times, but who await Christmas as a light of joy and hope: this morning the Men’s First Team, together with some players from the Women’s First Team, accompanied by coach Fabio Pecchia, the Team Manager Alessio Cracolici, the CSR Manager Giuseppe Squarcia, the Sports Director of Parma Calcio Women Domenico Aurelio and the Corporate Managing Director Luca Martines, were on a visit at the “Pietro Barilla” Children’s Hospital for the traditional pre-Christmas visit, on the occasion of Saint Lucia (13 December) and in view of 16 December, the date of foundation of Parma Calcio. Like every year, the visit was the occasion for the delivery of the Club’s Christmas gifts to the young patients.
After the usual meeting in the atrium of the hospital pavilion with the nursing staff and employees, the group made up of footballers was divided into two groups, each of which brought the gifts directly to the departments, giving emotions, joy and many smiles to the little yellow and blue fans. It all took place thanks to the support of the nursing coordinators and healthcare staff, all visibly emotional. “This year too it is a great pleasure to be here at the “Pietro Barilla” Children’s Hospital to bring a bit of joy and support to the children, happy to see their footballing heroes, and to the healthcare staff, engaged in a very important mission. Appointments like this, together with children, are activities that are good for the heart: we are all parents, we have children, sisters and younger brothers, all of us at Parma Calcio have a strong sense of closeness and empathy with those who, in this phase of life, is experiencing difficulties”, underlined Luca Martines, Corporate Managing Director of the Club, on the sidelines of the visit.
“This year too, Parma Calcio wanted to demonstrate the affection that binds the Club to our pediatric facility. And what they bring is a beautiful message, combining the value of sport and the commitment to solidarity. I sincerely thank Parma Calcio on behalf of all the staff of the Children’s Hospital and on behalf of our patients, who always greatly appreciate the gifts and gadgets of Parma Calcio, even more so if delivered by the players of the Men’s and Women’s First Teams Female,” declared Health Director Sandra Rossi.
In the traditional Parma Calcio event, the partner Crédit Agricole Italia also joined the initiative, offering its contribution with a donation of gifts and involving a group of managers and employees in a social responsibility activity.
