As the school ⁤year approaches, we’re shining a‌ spotlight on inspiring individuals from Olivet, Saint-Pryvé-Saint-Mesmin, and Saint-Hilaire-Saint-mesmin. Today, we meet Pascal Maraval, a dedicated resident who embodies the spirit of community involvement.

Pascal’s passion ⁢shines thru his work with the Foulées Roses,a vibrant event that unites thousands in the fight against breast cancer. For a decade, he has been the driving force behind this initiative, skillfully coordinating a ⁢team‍ of volunteers to ensure its ⁤success.

“When the foulées roses first began,we had around thirty volunteers,” Pascal recalls.‍ “Today, that number has grown to 160!⁣ I organize them into ⁤four key roles: registration and ‍bib distribution, refreshment stations⁢ along the route and at the ⁣finish line, setup and takedown of ‍event infrastructure, and course safety.”

While⁤ Pascal finds immense satisfaction in this⁤ role,he acknowledges the challenges of securing volunteers, particularly for the demanding safety positions. This issue reflects a broader trend, as volunteerism faces increasing obstacles in today’s⁢ fast-paced world.

Pascal’s commitment to community service extends far beyond the Foulées Roses.Since arriving in Olivet in 1997, he has generously dedicated his time and‌ energy to various associations.‌ He has ⁢served as president of‌ the municipal Sports‍ Union of olivet le Réveil‌ for baby gym, founded and led Roller ⁤Olivet, and spearheaded ⁤Festiv’Olivet, an event ⁣he continues to head. His contributions also include serving⁢ as‍ vice-president of BMX and treasurer of judo.

Pascal’s dedication to community building stems from a⁤ deep belief in the power of shared experiences and collaboration. “Associations are about connection, camaraderie, and contributing to something meaningful,” he explains. “I find immense joy in encouraging others to get involved. However, volunteering requires commitment,⁣ and ‌finding ⁢dedicated⁣ individuals is becoming increasingly difficult.”

Beyond his community work,Pascal is a man of diverse ⁢interests. He’s an avid comic book collector, a skilled bargain hunter, a talented ‍painter, and ⁢a ‍fitness enthusiast‌ who‍ enjoys ‌badminton, roller skating, hockey, walking, and yoga.
