VERCELLI. The “Piemonte Awards” ceremony for sporting excellence in 2024 was held in Vercelli, organized by the Regional Committee of the Italian Baseball Softball Federation.
Clubs, teams, athletes, coaches, technical collaborators, journalists and other personalities were rewarded within the Modo Hotel for their deeds and performances during the year 2024.
Present at the ceremony Domenico Sabatino deputy mayor with responsibility for sport of the City of Vercelli, Laura Musazzo CONI provincial delegate of Vercelli, Marco Mannucci FIBS federal councilor, Sabrina Olivero president of CR Piemonte as well as FIBS federal councilor, the regional councilors Isabella Dalbesio e Paolo Murgiaamong those present also Giuseppe Guilizzoni, a reference figure in Novara baseball.
Particular attention to inclusive projects such as the one created by the Grizzlies in collaboration with the Turin ASL in favor of children affected by cognitive autism spectrum syndrome, to fair play gestures and to Piedmontese baseball and softball talents.
In the formal part, the teams who won the youth events organized by CR Fibs Piemonte, the athletes and coaches who stood out in the various categories, wearing the blue shirt of the Italian national team, received the prize.
They were remembered Nadia Conti ed Ernesto Wonghistorical figures of Piedmontese softball and baseball who passed away in 2024, awarded certificates of merit to the Avigliana Rebels for promotion to Serie A Baseball and to JFK Baseball Mondovì for promotion to Serie B.
A special section was dedicated to the Tournament of the Regions, which took place last June in Piedmont, in fact several prizes were awarded for this important event. Special prize also for two journalists Alma Brunetto of La Stampa ed Enrico Capello of Tuttosportto whom the regional committee wanted to thank for their work and for highlighting the activity of Piedmont.
