The Pequiven quintet won the runner-up position in the basketball tournament.
José Gil Deportes Digital/Maracaibo: The PoliMaracaibo quintet lifted the champion’s cup of the II LIBAZ Union and Business Basketball Tournament, CAEZ Cup, by beating the Pequiven team in the final, in a match played on the multiple court of the Maracaibo Bar Association.
The finals party began by playing third and fourth place between the Farma Express and LyG quintets.
The third place cup was won by the L&G team with a score of 65-58 against Fama Express.
In the match, the L&G team stood out, Geralvin González with 22 points and Deivis Garcia 12 points.
For the Farma Express team, the best scorers, Elibeth Boscan 22 points, Carlos Garcia 15 points, and Jonathan Delgado 12 points.
In the grand final game, the PoliMaracaibo team won the champion’s cup by beating the Pequiven quintet with a score of 77-57.
For the champions, the best scorers were Jesús Villanueva with 26 points, Carlos Martez with 23 points and Roger Paredes 12 points.
For the Pequiven team, Juan Godoy stood out with 13 points, Jesús Gracia and Jefferson Echeverría with 12 points each.
The award ceremony was given by Humberto Prieto and José López, representative of the Maracaibo Bar Association, presenting the trophy to the fourth place team from Farma Express, and the third place to the L&G quintet.
This was followed by the presentation of the individual MVP awards of the José Ramírez tournament from the Pequiven team, and the Jesús Villanueva final MVP award from the PoliMaracaibo team.
Next, recognition was given to the technicians Nemecio Antúnez, lawyer team, Ernesto Matehus, FarmaExpress team, and Carlos Rodríguez, PoliMaracaibo team.
The organizing committee presented recognition to Neilo Puche, representative of the commission of referees and scorers who were in charge of the tournament.
To conclude the awards ceremony, the runner-up trophy was awarded to the Pequiven team.
Shouting as champions, the PoliMaracaibo team received the award of the champion trophy of the II LIBAZ CAEZ Cup Guild and Business Basketball Tournament.
