Ducati dominance: Will Bagnaia Reign Supreme in 2025?
The 2025 MotoGP season promises a thrilling showdown, with Pramac boss Gino Borsoi predicting a fierce battle between Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez. While acknowledging Marquez’s undeniable talent, borsoi believes Bagnaia’s experience and familiarity with Ducati will give him a slight edge in the championship race.
Both riders will be piloting the highly coveted GP25, widely regarded as the most competitive bike on the grid. Marquez has already demonstrated his prowess on the Desmosedici, securing three notable grand prix victories in 2024 despite riding a less advanced GP23. However, Borsoi suggests that adapting to a new team and bike setup might require some time for the eight-time world champion.
Bagnaia, on the other hand, enters the season as a two-time reigning world champion, having dominated the 2022 and 2023 seasons. His extraordinary riding skills and ability to extract maximum performance from his Ducati have been instrumental in his success. With four years of experience within the Ducati team, Bagnaia possesses an intimate understanding of the bike’s intricacies and the team’s operational dynamics.
Borsoi emphasizes Bagnaia’s balanced approach and consistency, highlighting his ability to consistently deliver strong performances. While acknowledging Marquez’s potential, Borsoi believes Bagnaia’s familiarity with the Ducati environment and his recent successes will give him a crucial advantage.
The 2025 MotoGP season is shaping up to be a captivating spectacle, with two titans of the sport vying for supremacy. While Marquez’s experience and determination cannot be underestimated, Bagnaia’s proven track record and deep understanding of the Ducati machinery make him a formidable contender for the world championship title.

Welcome back to “Torque Talk,” where we delve into the heart-pounding world of motogp.Today, we have a true legend joining us, three-time 500cc Grand prix runner-up and Motorenn legend, Randy Mamola! Randy, thanks for taking the time to chat with us.
Randy: “Always a pleasure to talk bikes, especially with such amazing talent on the grid these days.”
Moderator: Absolutely! The 2025 season is shaping up to be a humdinger, with all eyes on the reigning champion, Francesco Bagnaia and the returning eight-time champ, Marc marquez. Pramac Boss Gino Borsoi believes Bagnaia, with his Ducati experience, holds a slight edge. What are your thoughts?
Randy: “Borsoi makes a good point.Bagnaia’s consistency and understanding of the GP25 are undeniable. He’s found a rythm with Ducati that’s pretty hard to beat. But, let’s not forget Marc Marquez. The guy is a warrior, and even with the new team and bike, that hunger for victory will drive him. This is going to be a captivating battle of styles.
Moderator: Exactly! Marquez has proven himself on the Desmosedici already this season, even on the less advanced GP23. Do you think adapting to a brand new team and bike setup will slow him down, or will he be right back at the sharp end from the start?
Randy: “It’s going to be a challenge, no doubt. A new bike always takes some time to gel with, and finding that perfect balance with a new team dynamic can add another layer. But Marquez has that incredible ability to adapt and learn unbelievably fast. Don’t underestimate him.”
Moderator: Bagnaia, though, comes into the season as a two-time reigning champion, exuding confidence and consistency. His understanding of the Ducati machinery seems unassailable after four years.
Randy: “Bagnaia’s confidence is palpable, and his methodical approach to racing plays perfectly to the Ducati’s strengths. He’s not recklessly chasing every corner, but rather maximizing every lap. That’s championship-winning racing right there.”
Moderator: Now, some might argue that Marc Marquez’s experience and hunger may outweigh Bagnaia’s familiarity with the Ducati. What would you say to those fans?
Randy: “It’s a valid argument. Marquez’s experience is invaluable, and his hunger is insatiable. He never gives up,and that’s a force to be reckoned with. This is exactly what makes MotoGP so exciting, these two titans pushing each other to their absolute limits.
Moderator: I couldn’t foresee any other way. We’ve seen epic battles between these two in the past, and 2025 has all the makings of another classic.
Randy, you’ve raced alongside and against the best, witnessing changes and advancements throughout your career. What do you think defines this new era of MotoGP?
randy: “Technology has amplified the speed and precision. These bikes are pushing the limits of what’s mechanically possible. But ultimately, it still boils down to the rider’s skill, mental agility, and that raw will to win.”
Moderator: So, who do you tip for the 2025 Championship? A hard ask, I know!
Randy: (pauses) “It’s a true toss-up. Bagnaia has the experience with the bike and the momentum. But Marquez? Never write him off.I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes down to the wire, decided by milliseconds at the final grand prix. “
