(Arv) Venice 11 December. 2024 – The President of the Veneto Regional Council Roberto Ciambetti received today at Palazzo Ferro-Fini a Venetian representation of Fijlkam, the Italian Judo Wrestling Karate Martial Arts Federation, led by Daniele Mainenti, head of the Venetian Kata team. “The recent and brilliant results obtained by the Venetian team, culminating in Gold in the Italian Team Kata Championship for Regions, seal a season punctuated by successes and recognitions. In recent years the group of Venetian athletes has demonstrated an uncommon determination: thanks also to very valid teachers who have been able to grow a sport from which you can learn a lot and which helps not only in personal growth but also in relationships with others”. Ciambetti said. “If sports are unfairly defined as minor – minor because they have no space in newspapers and on television, but not due to the quality and importance of the athletic gesture – our country occupies a leading place at an international level and owes it precisely to commitment and sacrifice supported by many small clubs, coaches, athletes and families. You don’t get to the world, European and national top without a lot of hard work and a lot of passion. Precisely for this reason my compliments to all the athletes and coaches of the Venetian team are even more heartfelt. Sport makes us grow, without a doubt: what we must all commit ourselves to is giving the right recognition and importance to every sport, without distinctions or prestige or visibility rankings”, concluded the President.
