Championships: New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated 18-year-old D Gukesh, who created history by winning the World Chess Championship on Thursday. India’s D Gukesh has become the new and youngest world champion of chess.

This is the result of his unique talent, hard work and determination. His victory has not only etched his name in the history of chess but also inspired millions of young minds to dream big and achieve excellence. My best wishes for his future endeavours.”
It is noteworthy that Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh won the title by defeating Ding Liren of China in the 14th round of the World Chess Championship 2024 in Singapore on Thursday. With this victory, Gukesh has become the youngest world chess champion.
