Since November 28, Revel has vibrated to the rhythm of the Téléthon activities. This outpouring of solidarity, which extends until December 7, has already raised more than €10,000, a sum that is constantly growing. “We are delighted with the involvement of associations and residents, but the count has not yet been finalized,” underlines Léonce Gonzato, of the organizing committee.
An all-out mobilization
Many activities enlivened these days: concerts, sports tournaments, solidarity sales, and various demonstrations. The dance gala organized by Thus Danse and the GRS club made an impression, while the stands under the belfry attracted a family audience. “The cassoulet meal brought together more than 80 guests, raising more than €1,000 alone, not counting the raffle the same evening,” adds Léonce Gonzato. Sports activities also played a key role, with badminton and table tennis tournaments, as well as introductions to kenpo and judo. A 60 km cycle ride allowed participants to combine physical effort with a good cause.
Despite an advanced schedule this year, the Revélois responded in large numbers, reminding us that each contribution is essential to finance research and support families affected by genetic diseases.
One more day
The mobilization continues with a major event on Saturday December 7: a day of solidarity martial arts at the sports hall 2. With entry at €2, this event promises to add a nice sum to the final prize pool.
