The NBA night was especially marked by the umpteenth triple-double from Giannis Antetokounmpo, star for the Bucks.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was untenable with Milwaukee and Zaccharie Risacher’s Hawks scored a third victory on Saturday in the NBA.
Giannis Antetokounmpo treats the Bucks
The Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo, MVP 2019 and 2020, enjoyed himself against the Washington Wizards for a success for the Milwaukee Bucks 124 to 114 and a 14th consecutive defeat for the Wizards.
Antetokounmpo accumulated 42 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists to validate the 48th triple double of his career, all on percussion (no long shots attempted). After a failed start to the season, the Bucks revived and turned their record into a positive one (10 wins – 9 losses) for 6th place in the Eastern Conference.
The Blues of the Wizards had difficulty, in particular Alexandre Sarr (7 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist), drafted in No. 2 in June, who suffered in defense against the power of Antetokounmpo. Bilal Coulibaly, playing against Damian Lillard (25 points at 5 out of 9 from a distance), scored 4 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists.
The pass of three for the Hawks, Risacher precious
After two flashy successes against leader Cleveland, the Atlanta Hawks struggled but won against the Charlotte Hornets (107-104), the two teams playing for the second time in two days.
Three Frenchmen were starters. Zaccharie Risacher, No. 1 in the draft in June, was able to seize his opportunities with 14 points on 6 out of 10 shooting, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks in 25 minutes. As is often the case, the former Bourg-en-Bresse player remained on the bench during “money time”, a tight end to the match. For the Hornets, still without LaMelo Ball (calf), Tidjane Salaün and Moussa Diabaté are now starting one after another.
Salaün was clumsy (0 points at 0 out of 8 shooting). Diabaté, confined to screens and rebounds (8), still offered himself a nice “poster dunk” with a foul over Onyeka Okongwu at the end of the 2nd quarter, to score his only three points.
Atlanta now has 10 wins (11 losses) for 7th place in the East, while Charlotte is 12th.
Philadelphia on the revival
Catastrophic since the resumption, the Philadelphia 76ers were finally able to smile with a success against the Detroit Pistons (111-96) deprived of Cade Cunningham.
The Sixers once again had to do without their pivot Joel Embiid, who missed a fourth game in a row, the 14th since the start of the season, due to swelling in his left knee operated on at the start of the year. But the Pennsylvania franchise has recovered Paul George (11 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists) whose transfer this summer is disappointing for the moment.
Leader Tyrese Maxey made the difference (28 points, 6 assists), for a 4th success for the Sixers, penultimate in the East. French interior Guerschon Yabusele, starting at power forward, piled up 7 points and 8 rebounds.
Curry’s Warriors are no longer moving forward
The Golden State Warriors suffered a 4th loss in a row against the Phoenix Suns (113-105).
Devin Booker (27 points, 9 assists) and Kevin Durant (21 points, 10 rebounds) led the Suns to success without trembling too much, which climbed them to 8th place in the West (11 wins – 8 losses).
Author of 23 points, Stephen Curry became the 29th player to cross the barrier of 24,000 points scored in the regular season on Saturday, in 15 NBA seasons. The Warriors fall to 4th place in the West (12-7).
