The team captain of the league team, Sebastian Wendt, won the silver medal in the individual competition at the German University Championships in Duisburg. And it didn’t stop there.

Sebastian Wendt wins silver for the University of Hanover

At the beginning of December, the University of Duisburg-Essen hosted the German University Championships. Sebastian Wendt won the silver medal for the University of Hanover in the individual competition in the over 100 kilogram weight class. After three wins, he only had to admit defeat in the final. He also contributed three victories in the mixed team to winning the bronze medal for the University of Hanover.

Judoka Lawrence Reysin, who competed for the Lower Saxony Police Academy, also took part from SV Nienhagen. In the strong weight class up to 66 kilograms, in which there were over 40 participants, he had to admit defeat to the eventual champion Liam Herrmann after three confident victories in the preliminary round. He was then eliminated in the consolation round.
