The results of the NBA Cup night
The last matches valid for the group stage of the 2024 NBA Cup were played on the night between 3 and 4 December. In the East, Milwaukee achieved its seventh consecutive victory by beating Detroit and qualifying for the next stage as top seed. In the ranks of the Bucks, the absolute protagonists are Antetokounmpo and Lillard with 28 and 27 points. Complicated evening, however, for Simone Fontecchio, who didn’t score more than five points from the bench.
Everything was easy for Cleveland and New York, who clearly prevailed over Washington and Orlando. Second success in a row for Philadelphia, which beats Charlotte thanks to 40 points from the Maxey-George duo.
In the west, a key victory arrives for Dallas, which overtakes Memphis in a sprint to also secure the last available place for the quarter-finals thanks to the better points difference compared to Phoenix, for which the triumph against San Antonio was not enough.
Already qualified, OKC does not relax and overwhelms Utah, thanks to the combined 63 points of the trio Gilgeous-Alexander, Williams and Joe. Another comeback defeat, however, for Golden State, which was overturned by Denver in the final minutes thanks to a 10-0 run in favor of the 2022 NBA Champions.
