He views this new four-year term as an opportunity too elevate the CNOSB and propel Burkinabe sports to new heights.
While yaméogo prefers to avoid premature announcements, he outlined key areas of focus for his presidency. Strengthening the technical capabilities and governance of sports federations will be paramount. This includes improving the daily operations and support provided to both federations and athletes.
yaméogo also emphasized the importance of creating an accessible and well-maintained habitat for all stakeholders. This includes ensuring cleanliness and accessibility within CNOSB facilities.
Furthermore, he highlighted the significance of fostering strong external relationships, notably within Zone 3, where he serves as president. maintaining a harmonious relationship wiht the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is crucial for securing support and resources for Burkinabe athletes.
One notable project Yaméogo aims to revive is the CNOSB’s elite sports school.Initially conceived to nurture high-performing athletes from a young age, the project faced challenges due to funding constraints and bureaucratic hurdles. Now, with the support of Olympic champion Hugues Fabrice Zango, Yaméogo is steadfast to secure the necessary resources to relaunch the school. This initiative will not only provide a pathway for young athletes but also contribute to the growth of a sustainable talent pipeline for Burkinabe sports.
To enhance project development and implementation, Yaméogo has established several new commissions within the CNOSB. These commissions will play a vital role in identifying and developing viable projects that can be submitted to the IOC for funding. This approach aims to maximize the utilization of Olympic Solidarity funds, wich can provide up to $30,000 for approved projects.
Recognizing the need for improved infrastructure maintenance, Yaméogo has also created a dedicated commission to oversee the upkeep of CNOSB facilities. This proactive measure will ensure the longevity and optimal utilization of these valuable assets.
