Splitter: “The collective is exceptional”

After a ninth consecutive victory snatched against Maccabi (93-81), Coach Tiago Splitter looks back on this particular match but also on the next deadline which awaits us on Friday in Athens.

“When I arrived here I told the guys that it was obviously going to be a special match without an audience, so we had to bring energy and that’s what they managed to do perfectly. They played well, they were aggressive, so that’s a good thing. The guys did a great job on the offensive rebound throughout the game and that was key.

The collective is exceptional, it’s always easier when you win that’s for sure but even in pre-season there was already very good understanding between all the players in this team. We just try to play quickly, sharing the ball and above all making sure everyone has a role. I know it sounds simple to say like that, but it’s the truth. Everyone is on the same footing, there are no egos in this team, everyone plays very hard and respects the game plan.

We all know that Olympiakos is a very talented team. We are preparing as best we can for this meeting with my assistants, we are really taking each match one after the other and we will see how to do it at that time. »
