Lieshout – Badminton Club Lieshout participated in the Big Club Promotion for the first time this year; a national initiative that allows associations to earn extra income. In advance, the association had aimed as high as possible to generate as much income as possible. Even that set goal has been surpassed, mainly thanks to the enormous efforts of some very fanatical lottery ticket sellers.
The Big Club Action is a national initiative organized by the National Big Club Action Foundation. They have set themselves the goal of helping to build a healthy association life and do this by organizing a lottery. Associations can sell tickets for that lottery, with a large part of the price of a ticket going to the association. A small portion benefits the foundation, which purchases the lottery prizes and supports the associations in selling the lottery tickets.
Big Club promotion
The Big Club Campaign has been around for more than 50 years. The first lottery was held in 1972 and since then more and more associations have used this method to generate some extra income. This year, no fewer than 6,022 associations (nationally) participated, which together raised €21,915,925 through the sale of raffle tickets. Badminton Club Lieshout participated for the first time this year and immediately raised a significant amount. The mechanism that the Big Club promotion offers is very simple. The (members of an) association sell tickets for a lottery and the vast majority of the proceeds from the sale of tickets goes to the association itself. It is therefore important that the members of the association are committed to selling as many raffle tickets as possible. The board of the badminton association has therefore fully encouraged and encouraged the members (both juniors and seniors) to sell a lot of raffle tickets.
Youth and Seniors
Last week the board put the best lottery sellers (among youth) in the spotlight. For example, the sellers who had sold more than ten raffle tickets received a key ring and the top sellers who had sold more than 25 raffle tickets received a real medal. There was also a voucher for a delicious ice cream for the top seller. These stimulating prizes were awarded at the youth games evening by the board of Badminton Club Lieshout. The seniors have also sold quite a few raffle tickets: they will be put in the spotlight at a later date.
