The two former tennis stars Julia Görges and Wesley Koolhof have married. The wedding took place in Arnhem, the Netherlands, the home of the two tennis professionals.
“Mr & Mrs – December 14th, 2024,” the former world number nine posted about her wedding photos on Instagram.
Congratulations from former tennis greats such as Boris Becker, Andrea Petkovic and Angelique Kerber were not long in coming in the comments.
Successful tennis careers
Görges, who ended her sporting career in 2020, was rarely seen in the tennis circuit. Usually only when she accompanied her loved one on tour. Between 2010 and 2019, the now 36-year-old won seven tournaments.
Her groom only ended his active career in November. The doubles specialist won his last doubles competition against Spain and ended the career of superstar Rafael Nadal. Koolhof, who triumphed at Wimbledon in 2023, won 21 titles in his impressive career.
