jules Marie is gearing up for a fresh start. A year ago, the Normandy native was preparing for a grueling journey to the Nouméa Challenger and the australian Open qualifiers. While his ranking has dipped to 340th in the world, the 33-year-old athlete remains undeterred.
Despite missing out on the Australian Grand Slam this year,Marie has dedicated himself to rigorous training in Caen,allowing his devoted fans to witness his preparations. He’s set to make his competitive comeback the week of January 6th at the Nottingham Challenger.
Marie will face stiff competition in England. Among his rivals are the formidable Maxime Cressy, a Franco-American player known for his powerful serve, the rising jordanian star Abdullah Shelbayh, and the promising Croatian Dino Prizmic, who recently pushed tennis legend Novak Djokovic to the limit at the Australian Open.

Welcome back to the court, Jules! It’s great to see you gearing up for another season.
Jules Marie: Thanks for having me! it feels good to be back and healthy, ready to hit the court fierce.
It’s been a year since we saw you at the Noumea Challenger and the Australian Open qualifiers. How has the time off impacted your approach to the game?
Jules Marie: It was definitely a period of introspection. Falling out of the top 300 in the rankings was tough, but it forced me to evaluate my game and make some changes. I spent a lot of time back in Caen, incorporating new training methods, and really focusing on my mental game.
You mentioned mental game; how crucial is that aspect of the sport for a player like yourself, especially coming back from a dip in form?
Jules Marie: Mental toughness is everything in tennis. You face a lot of ups and downs, especially in a highly competitive environment. It’s about learning from setbacks,staying positive,and believing in yourself even when things aren’t going your way.
It’s interesting that you chose the Nottingham Challenger as your comeback tournament. What attracts you to that particular competition?
Jules Marie: Nottingham is a great tournament with a strong field. I like the grass courts ther, and it’s a good opportunity to test myself against top players like Maxime Cressy, Abdullah Shelbayh, and Dino Prizmic. Those are players I need to beat to get back to the top, and I’m looking forward to the challenge.
Speaking of challenging opponents, Prizmic gave Novak Djokovic a run for his money at the Australian open.What did you make of Prizmic’s performance,and what can you learn from a player like him?
Jules Marie: Prizmic is an exceptional talent. His Australian Open performance against Djokovic showed his level of potential. I think it’s inspiring to see younger players fierce and fearless, pushing the boundaries against the best in the world. It’s a reminder to me to stay focused and never underestimate anyone on the court.
what are your goals looking ahead? Where do you see Jules Marie in the next year?
Jules Marie: My primary goal is to climb back up the rankings.I want to be back competing at the Grand Slams. But beyond rankings and titles,I want to continue playing with passion,heart,and a desire to improve every day. I want to inspire young players through my journey, showing them that even when faced with adversity, it’s possible to come back stronger.
