At the opening ceremony, Li Xuanliang, member of the Standing Committee of the Quanzhou Municipal Party Committee, deputy leader of the Municipal Leading Group for Double Support and Co-construction, political commissar of the Quanzhou Military Division College, Xia Hou Jianbing, deputy dean of Quanzhou Normal University, Zhang Guangzeng, deputy commander of the Quanzhou Military Division College, and retired soldiers of Quanzhou City Director of the Secretariat Tang Liangyuan and other military and civilian leaders and guests attended.
This invitational competition attracted the participation of 9 troops stationed in Quanzhou and 16 units including Quanzhou Normal University and the Municipal Veterans Affairs Bureau. The competition lasted for 5 days. After fierce competition in the group stage and knockout stage, the champion, runner-up, third runner-up and third place were finally determined. This is not only a competition of basketball skills, but also an important platform for the military and civilians to enhance friendship and show their style.
The Quanzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have always attached great importance to the work of dual support, constantly expanded the form and content of dual support, enriched the carriers of dual support, solidly promoted the creation of a national dual support model city (county), and strived to write a story of unity and progress between the military and the government, the military and the people. Quanzhou Chapter has been awarded the title of “National Double Support Model City” for nine consecutive years and is heading towards the “tenth consecutive championship”.
The relevant person in charge of the Quanzhou Municipal Bureau of Veterans Affairs said that this basketball game provides a good opportunity for military-civilian exchanges and hopes to further deepen mutual understanding and cooperation through the game. This competition is an important measure to jointly build and seek common development. Through such activities, we will actively explore the characteristics and patterns of dual support work in the new era, further promote Quanzhou City’s dual support work to a new level, and contribute to the realization of the first anniversary of the founding of the army. The centenary goal embodies strong spiritual power.
