The USP kendo section participated this Sunday 1is December at the Arténium de Ceyrat (Puy-de-Dôme), at the Kazan no bushi, which can be translated into Japanese as “The Warrior of the Volcanoes”. For this competition, the Poinçonnois kendokas were represented by two individual competitors and five teams.
In the individual junior category, Keenan Bonneau stood out by winning the bronze medal. Throughout the competition, the young man scored some very nice ippons. As for Grégoire Benoît, for his first official competition, he did well: by being precise and diligent, he demonstrated his strong commitment.

Furthermore, USP kendo presented four teams in open and one in competition. The team which was made up of Marie Chaizy, Kevin Chaizy, Patrice Periès took a very good third place after a very committed semi-final against Saint-Étienne while the team which was made up of Lilian Brossier, Grégoire Benoît, Romain Nouhant n was eliminated only in the round of 16.
In the women’s competition, the team of Marie Chaizy, Katarina Chaizy and Mayuko Misaki only lost in the final after an additional fight.
