The Benicalap Park has hosted the latest edition of Sports in the neighborhood of the year, in which the Valencian federations of rugby, karate, paddle tennis, chess, handball, judo and hockey have participated, in addition to the Valencia Weightlifting Club, the Turia Water Polo, the Beach Bol beach volleyball club and the Piratas baseball club Valencia, as well as psychomotor stations.
Aimed at all audiences, the event has the collaboration of El Corte Inglés, which organizes face painting and balloon twisting workshops. On a monthly basis, Sports in the neighborhood is an initiative of the Municipal Sports Foundation, in collaboration with the regional sports federations and sports clubs, to promote physical and sports activity, healthy habits, as well as the dissemination of the different sports disciplines that the residents of the neighborhoods of our city they can practice.
La Fonteta, Benimàmet, Poblats Marítims, Marxalenes, Sant Isidre, Algirós, Castellar-Oliveral, Campanar, Orriols and Benicalap, have been the settings for this initiative during 2024, which has been developed in different spaces in the city, outside the traditional ones sports venues, such as squares, parks or IDEs.
