Twenty editions hosting the best footballers in the junior category. The international 7-a-side football tournament ‘Lointek Amorebieta-Etxano CUP’ will host 23 teams and nearly 350 junior category footballers this Friday and Saturday in the Zornotzarra town.
The championship that will be held in Txolon will start this Friday with a first phase in which twelve teams from the area will take part. These will be divided into three groups. In A there will be Ikastxiki FE, CD Arratia, Club Bansander and CD Aurrera de Vitoria. In B, Gernika Club, CD Ermua, Athletic Gipuzkoa Eskola and EDF Promesas. And in C, SD Deusto, Bermeo FT, Aretxabaleta KE and Txantrea KKE. The group stage, as a league, will begin at 9:30 am. Eight teams – 1st and 2nd in each group and the two best third parties – will qualify for the playoffs that will take place starting at 4:00 p.m.
Friday’s champion will qualify for Saturday’s matchday, which will take place with the same schedules and format. Girondins Bordeaux, Real Valladolid, SD Eibar and CA Osasuna will compete in group A. In B, SD Amorebieta, Athletic Club, Deportivo Alavés and Real Racing Club. And in C, FC Porto, RC Deportivo de La Coruña, Real Sociedad and the winner of the previous day’s qualifying phase. The group stage will begin at 9:30 a.m. and eight teams will qualify for the quarterfinals, which will start at 4:00 p.m. The grand final is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. During the tournament there will be two fields (field 1 and field 2). The matches played on the 7th on field 1 can be seen live on the club’s YouTube channel.

The ticket, which will be valid for the entire day, will have the following prices. On the 6th it will be free for members and will cost 3 euros for the rest of the people; while on the 7th the members must pay 3 euros and the rest 5 euros. During the championship, different prizes will be raffled, such as t-shirts from the participating clubs or a voucher for two people in Boroa Jatetxea. For logistical reasons, the Txolon car park will remain closed both days, so it is recommended to park in the different existing car parks in the municipality.
