The ‘2024 National Youth Excellence Team Invitation Unified Youth Basketball Tournament (hereinafter referred to as Unified Youth)’ will be held at the Sogang University Gymnasium in Seoul for six days from the 6th to the 15th.
The integrated youth competition, hosted and supervised by the Korea Basketball Association, was held for the first time in the Gapyeong-gun area of Gyeonggi-do last year, and is a meaningful competition aimed at revitalizing exchanges between elite and non-elite players for the first time in the history of domestic youth basketball competitions. .
A total of 17 teams, including 11 teams from the boys’ elementary school division and 6 teams from the girls’ elementary division, will participate in this year’s competition, which is in its second year, and will enjoy the last basketball festival of the year. Because it is held at the end of the year, it is expected to be a competition to end the year for aspiring youth basketball players.
Above all, it is noteworthy that while last year, the first competition, the competition was held in a local area, this year, the second competition, will be held in Seoul.
In addition, the integrated youth competition, which was held last year for the male elementary school division, will be held in two categories starting this year with the establishment of a new female elementary school division.
In the case of Namchobu this year, it was disappointing that not a single elite team participated, but a number of leading teams such as Gangnam Samsung, Bundang Samsung, Skill Factory, and Gimpo SK will participate, so fierce competition is expected to unfold.
On the other hand, in the Yeocho division, teams that are active on the elite stage, such as Seoul Singil Elementary School and Mancheon Elementary School, announced their participation.
The association held a group draw prior to the competition. As a result, Group A of Namchobu includes Changwon Lee Seung-min Basketball Class, Gangnam Samsung, Gimpo SK, and Asan Samsung, Group B includes Wonju DB Junior, M&M Basketball Class, Dongdaemun Tomo, and Team Six, and Group C includes Siheung P4U, Bundang Samsung, and Skill Factory Junior. It was organized.
The girls’ elementary school division had 6 teams divided into 2 groups, and group A included Busan Motion Sports, Asan Woori Bank Junior, Mancheon Choga, and group B included Starfish, Seoul Singil Elementary School, and Gwangju Banglim Sports Club.
For reference, in last year’s competition, Bundang Samsung was the inaugural champion.
Meanwhile, all games of this competition will be broadcast on the Korea Basketball Association’s YouTube channel, and the winning teams will be given trophies and small prizes. Additionally, the Grand Prize, Excellence Award, and Encouragement Award will be awarded to players who show off their outstanding skills.
