Award ceremony for the 2nd Bundesliga; Gmunden, AT
The 2024 judo season was full of successes and emotions for the team from Reichraming. With a strong performance, the team secured third place in the Bundesliga and – like last year – was awarded the bronze medal at the Final Four in Gmunden. The basic round was particularly impressive, in which the team won three out of four matches and thus impressively demonstrated its strength.
But with the end of this season, an era ends for the Reichraming judo club: Due to personnel changes in the team lineup, the club has decided to leave the Bundesliga. Instead, Reichraming and his second team will form a team in the Upper Austrian State League A (LLA) in the future.
A particularly painful aspect of this upheaval is the loss of two judoka who contributed significantly to the team’s third place finish. Alexander Klaus-Sternwieser and Phillip Sellner are not allowed to compete for Reichraming in the 2025 season. A new chapter begins for the two of them: Klaus-Sternwieser will be playing for the German Bundesliga club in the 2025 season Judoteam Bad Aibling get on the mat and continue his career at the international level. Sellner is used as a gas fighter for the ASKÖ Leonding fight in the LLA.
Even though saying goodbye to the Bundesliga is difficult, Reichraming is looking positively into the future. The new team constellation in the LLA offers the opportunity to promote young talent and create a solid basis for future success.
