Palermo. In the San Filippo Neri district, better known as Zen 2, the Carabinieri of the Palermo Provincial Command, supported by the 12th Sicily Regiment and the Palermo Villagrazia Dog Unit, conducted an intense control operation aimed at combating widespread illegalities.

The operation, which saw the participation of the soldiers of the Palermo San Lorenzo and Piazza Verdi companies, as well as the Radiomobile Unit, was carried out with the support of ENEL technical inspectors and staff of the Istituto Autonomo Case Popolari.

The results of the operation

During the activity they were reported 70 people to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Palermo:

• 32 for theft of electricity, with illegal and dangerous connections to the network;
• 36 for illegal occupation of public housing;
• 1 for possession for the purpose of drug dealing, possession of counterfeit money and illegal possession of weapons or objects capable of offending;
• 1 for driving while intoxicated ascertained by breathalyzer.

Overall, they were identified 245 peoplecheck yourself 40 vehiclescarried out 15 searches and seized over 100 grams of cocaine and hashish divided into doses ready for sale. They were also found 6 fake 20 euro banknotes and one baseball bat detained without justifiable reason.

On the administrative front, they were elevated 15 fines under the Highway Code for a total of 17.659 euro.

All the narcotic substance was sent to the Narcotic Substance Analysis Laboratory of the Provincial Command for the usual in-depth analysis.

A commitment that continues

The Carabinieri will continue their control activities in the neighborhood in the coming weeks to prevent widespread crime and reduce urban decay, improving real and perceived safety by citizens.
