The Ministry of Sports and Tourism approved at the collegium the types of sports that are priority for development for 2025. The list includes 27 events, including those that regularly bring medals, as well as those where Belarusians are competitive on the world stage – biathlon, kayaking and canoeing, athletics, swimming, modern pentathlon, tennis, weightlifting, freestyle.

At the same time, the list includes cycling, judo and field hockey, where Belarusians have not had success at the adult level for a long time. But football is excluded from the list of priority sports – and this does not allow us to count on priority funding.

The board also assessed the performance of Belarusian athletes at the Olympics and recognized them as successful.

Let us remind you that at the Games in Paris, representatives of our country participated in a neutral status – without a flag and an anthem. Nevertheless, 11 out of 17 athletes entered the top 8, and four won medals: gold went to Ivan Litvinovich, silver to Violetta Bordilovskaya (both trampolining) and Evgeniy Zolotoy (rowing), bronze to Evgeniy Tikhontsov (weightlifting) ).
