Tonight, the spotlight shines brightly on Concordia’s exceptional athletes as the city gathers to celebrate their achievements at the annual San Antonio Awards. The prestigious ceremony, commencing at 9:30 p.m. at the Convention Center, will be presided over by Municipal President Dr. Francisco Azcué, joined by members of his administration, esteemed guests, and the families and friends of the nominees.Prior to the grand event, nominees are requested to attend a mandatory rehearsal at the Convention Center at 12:30 p.m. This session will provide essential guidelines for the evening’s proceedings.

This year’s ceremony holds a unique distinction: Alejandro Ricagno, a remarkable athlete, will be recognized for his exceptional achievements in both Duathlon and Triathlon, a feat rarely seen in the history of the San Antonio Awards. While these disciplines share similarities,they are considered distinct categories within the awards framework,making Ricagno’s accomplishment even more noteworthy.
other athletes poised to receive multiple awards include Carmela cocco, the newly crowned South American Athletics Champion, and Alicia Beatriz Venegas, who will be honored for her prowess in Sumo, a sport making its debut on the san Antonio Prize list.
Beyond individual achievements, the ceremony will also pay tribute to meaningful milestones and contributions to Concordia’s sporting landscape. The Regatas Club will be recognized for its historic promotion to the national volleyball elite in 1994, a feat made even more poignant by the recent passing of Aníbal Challiol, the club’s architect and coach. This tribute will serve as a heartfelt homage to a beloved figure who left an indelible mark on Concordia and the province.
Posthumous recognition will also be bestowed upon Roberto Rolón, the former president of the Judo Union of Entre Ríos, whose legacy continues to inspire.
Motorsports enthusiast Gabriel Scordia, a celebrated ambassador for Concordia on both provincial and national circuits, will be honored for his distinguished career.
