An individual has donated a 2,100 square meter plot of land on Valdepeñas Avenue, next to the silos, free of charge to the Ciudad Real City Council to create a green area. A matter that passed this Monday through the Local Government Board, which also approved the reform and expansion of two sports courts and the programming of Jugarama.
The spokesperson for the Government team, Guillermo Arroyo, explained that the purpose of the transfer of this plot is to “satisfy the municipal public interest” and that the Municipal Planning Plan (POM) establishes that it must be used as a green area. He advanced, in this sense, that it can be integrated into the global project that the City Council intends to execute in the silos, once it obtains the transfer from the Community Board.
In another vein, the Local Government Board approved the renovation and expansion works of two sports courts in the Puerta de Santa María sports center for 244,000 euros. They will be enabled for the practice of tennis, handball, indoor soccer, badminton, volleyball and skating.
For its part, the Jugarama workshops and activities, which will take place from December 26 to 30 and from January 2 to 4, will have a cost of 30,000 euros.
When asked by the media, Arroyo insisted that the local Executive’s intention is to approve the 2025 municipal budget project before the end of the year. The Treasury councilor explained that last week he delivered the draft to Vox, with the inclusion of a new request for the Local Police, and that the willingness to reach an agreement is good.
Regarding the pedestrianization works, Guillermo Arroyo indicated that “they are advancing at a good pace” and that they will not stop at Christmas, to meet the execution deadline. He hopes that the damage to traffic, neighbors and establishments will be as little as possible and remembers that these works are “for something much better in the future.”
