A Season of Triumphs for the Périgord Vert Archery Club
The Périgord Vert Archery Club has concluded a remarkable season, marked by impressive performances in both national and international competitions.
The club’s archers embarked on their competitive journey in late June at the European Championships held in Austria. Seven members of the club participated in this demanding four-day event, which attracted over 1,600 archers from across the globe. The competition tested athletes’ skills and endurance with a variety of challenges, including shooting at multiple distances, estimating distances, and navigating challenging lighting conditions in the mountainous terrain. Romane Bajard secured a bronze medal, while Valérie Pasquet earned a silver medal, showcasing the club’s talent on the international stage.
Continuing their success, club president Frédéric Brun represented France at the world Championships in Brazil during August. Facing fierce competition amidst the Amazon rainforest, Brun achieved an impressive fourth-place finish after five days of intense shooting.
The club’s momentum continued at the FFTL France Circuit held in Nantiat, Haute-Vienne. Nine archers from Périgord Vert participated, demonstrating a clear upward trajectory in their performance levels. The results spoke for themselves: Romane Bajard, Valérie Pasquet, Corinne Autexier, and Matthieu Bajart all claimed gold medals, while younes Richard and Frédéric Brun secured silver medals.Most recently,eleven archers from saint-Sauve represented the club at the indoor France Circuit in Saintes.Over two days of indoor competition, they achieved an outstanding ten medals, including five gold, three silver, and two bronze.
