Brianza Archers shine at National Indoor Competition
The recent indoor archery competition in Gallarate, a nationally ranked event, saw a strong turnout from Brianza archers eager to secure points for national championship qualification.Over fifty archers from various Brianza clubs, including arcieri del Borgia – Usmate Velate, Polisportiva Besanese-Besana Brianza, Compagnia Arcieri di Monza e della Brianza, Burarco Vimercate, and Compagnia Arcieri del Sole-Solaro, participated in the event hosted by the CAM (Compagnia Arcieri Monica) at the Gallarate municipal gymnasium.
The Polisportiva Besanese archers delivered exceptional performances, securing numerous medals across various categories. Junior archers Camilla Agrati and Andrea Brotto both claimed gold in the Olympic bow division, while Monica Redaelli (gold) and Maria Carla Corti (bronze) dominated the Master category. Chiara Pedoto and Davide Zappa, competing in the Allievi division, both secured gold medals, and Alessandro Arosio (silver) and Lisa mariani (bronze) represented the club well in the Ragazzi category. These impressive results culminated in gold medals for both the Besana Brianza girls’ and master women’s teams.
other notable performances included Virginia Rizzi’s gold medal win in the senior category and the silver medal for the senior women’s team,both representing Burarco. The Compagnia Arcieri del Sole also achieved success, with Greta Piao securing silver in the girls’ Olympic bow division. In the barebow category, Massimo Egidio Volpi, Adriano Fabbian, and Emilio Giussani swept the podium, earning gold for their team. Daniela Sangiorgio from arcieri del Borgia claimed the individual gold medal in the barebow category.
The Compagnia Arcieri di Monza also had a successful outing, with Maurizio Cecchetto and Massimo Valenti securing silver and bronze medals respectively in the Master category of the Olympic bow division. Alessia Passoni earned a silver medal in the senior barebow category. The team also achieved gold in the Master category and bronze in the senior category of the Olympic bow division.

Marco Bianchi: Absolutely remarkable! This generation of archers is really somthing special. The dedication and skill displayed by the Polisportiva Besanese team,in particular,were exceptional.
Winning several gold medals across various categories, including the girls’ and master women’s team events, is a testament to their hard work under their dedicated coaches. It’s encouraging to see such promising young talents like Camilla Agrati and Andrea Brotto emerge, and to witness experienced archers like Monica Redaelli continue to dominate.
