Traditional Iskele Cup begins in basketball – Voice of the People

BasketballThe Traditional Pier Cup, which fans are eagerly awaiting, is taking the stage once again this year. The tournament, which was held for the first time last year and attracted great attention, has now become a tradition. Iskele Cup, organized every year before the Senior Men’s Basketball season, is preparing to host competitive matches this year as well.
CHAMPIONS OF THE PAST ARE REMEMBERED
In the tournament held last year, Caesar Larnaca Youth Union became the champion, while Eastern Mediterranean University finished the tournament in second place. This year too, teams will fight for both prestige and a strong start to the season.
PARTICIPANT CLUBS ARE ANNOUNCED
The clubs that will take part in the tournament were determined as a result of the studies carried out. The legend of Cyprus sports, Çetinkaya Turkish Sports Club (TSK) Basketball Team, founded in 1930, Soyer Sports Club, celebrating its 16th anniversary, Soyer Aksu Senior Men’s Basketball Team, ADA Sports Club, established this year to represent Famagusta, and last year’s champion, Caesar. Larnaca Youth Union Sports Club is among the teams that will take part in the tournament.
REFEREES UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE FEDERATION
The tournament is organized with the support of the TRNC Basketball Federation. It was announced that the referees who will work in the matches will be appointed by the Central Referee Board (MHK). This ensures that the tournament will be run fairly and professionally.
DATE AND FIXTURES ARE WAITED
It was announced that the tournament dates and match fixtures will be announced very soon. Basketball fans are eagerly waiting for the day when the tournament will start. Iskele Cup continues to add excitement to Cypriot basketball and provide an important preparation platform for teams.
MATCHES ON NORTH CYPRUS TV
As last year, Kuzey Kıbrıs TV, which is also the main media sponsor of the tournament, will broadcast the matches live throughout the tournament and bring them together with sports fans.

All competitions will be held at İskele Dr. Iskele Municipality is the main sponsor of the “Traditional Iskele Cup” Basketball tournament, which will be played at the Fazıl Küçük Sports Hall.
