TSV Mühldorf can look back on a successful year in which the number of members increased to 2,300 and many sporting successes were celebrated. At the annual general meeting it was also announced that the first board member would no longer be running for office next year.
Mühldorf – A well-filled tennis hall formed the external setting to which Stefan Schörghuber, the chairman of TSV Mühldorf, was able to welcome numerous members as well as Mayor Michael Hetzl and his deputy Ilse Preisinger-Sontag. In addition to several city councilors, BLSV district chairman Erwinzeug also came.
After the obligatory memorial service, at which the long-time club manager Bobby Guerra was remembered, Schörghuber opened the meeting with his detailed review of the various divisions of the largest club in the district town. In this context, he also mentioned the current number of members of 2,300. When Stefan Schörghuber took office in 2012, there were 1,500 members,
Youth quota of 48 percent
“The youth quota is very pleasing,” said the club boss, “it is 48 percent. We have around 1,100 children and young people under the age of 18. Tennis has the most members with 475, followed by volleyball with 355 members.”
We then continued with the individual departments. The swimmers held a training camp in South Tyrol, Maxima Maschke achieved first place in her age group at the Upper Bavarian Championships and she took part in the German Open Water Swimming Championships. In the Wöhrsee in Burghausen she swam 2500 meters in 39 minutes. “Some people can’t do it on foot,” said Stefan Schörghuber’s comment.
Anita Bertsche from powerlifting (squats, bench press, deadlift) took fourth place at the German Championships. Belt tests are held regularly in judo, and the younger judoka took part in the junior tournament in Easter Munich and in several championships.
Alia Belouazza took a good second place over 800 meters at the Bavarian Athletics Championships in Erding; the cross-country final took place in Mühldorf with over 200 participants.
The club chairman was also happy about good young gymnasts: “At the Bavarian Championships in Nördlingen, Maxi Baumgartner and Oskar Hell achieved first and second place in their age group in the individual, Emile Teuchert, age group 9/10, also came first and was included in the Bavarian state squad called.”
In tennis, the two teams playing in the Bayernliga held the class, the men’s 30s ended up in fourth place and the men’s 55s came in third. The U12s made it to the top Upper Bavarian league.
“The greatest success of TSV Mühldorf is the promotion of Men’s I to the second Bundesliga,” said Stefan Schörghuber. A full-time trainer has now been hired in this division. In beach volleyball, Fritz Vähning and his partner took third place at the German Championships. The Crosstraining/4XF division now has more training times thanks to a renovation of the premises.
The baseball department is new and the first friendly games were held successfully here. The karate department has been active at TSV for 50 years and held an anniversary course. The founding members were Manfred Gilhuber, Albert Patzl, Manfred Raspl Hermann Renoth and Herbert Woidich, department head Andrea Bronnert successfully passed the 4th Dan exam.
The members of rhythmic gymnastics do not take part in any competitions, but they present the club and the city to the outside world through their many performances. Peter Ebner tirelessly campaigns to acquire the German sports badge. He himself has already done this 47 times. This year there were 112 sports enthusiasts at TSV Mühldorf who completed the exams for the sports badge. This makes TSV the most successful club in the district.
Regarding the Schäfflers, Stefan Schörghuber said: “In this extraordinary dance season, our Schäfflers ‘peeped off’ 90 performances – despite a relatively short carnival. The dances that have still been ordered will be danced in the regular Schäffler year of 2026.”
New to TSV are coronary sports, which have been back since April 2024, and senior sports, which have recently been offered again. The TSV Mühldorf is represented with a stand at the Mühldorf Old Town Christmas, two young gymnasts appeared on television in “Klein gegen Groß” and competed against Lukas Dauser and Fabian Hambüchen. Then the development of the sports facility continued: In May 2024, the new beach volleyball facility was opened in Altmühldorfer Tal. But Schörghuber also outlined some problem areas: “Damage, maintenance and repairs are increasing disproportionately. Energy costs are still very high. The new municipal funding guidelines put the TSV at a disadvantage. Since he has his own gym, there are fewer subsidies from the city. This creates liquidity bottlenecks at the main club. Since the subsidies applied for are still outstanding, we are starting the new year with a deficit of 50,000 euros.”
On the ongoing issue of Halle, the club boss estimated the estimated costs for the renovation based on a feasibility study at around 9.5 million. A new building would cost around 10.7 million euros.
Cost a lot of energy
At the end of his report, Stefan Schörghuber came up with news that surprised everyone present: “2024 was a very stressful year, it cost me a lot of energy, I had many sleepless nights. So next year I will no longer be running as the first board member.” Andi Krischke also thanked Stefan Schörghuber, who had thanked everyone who supported him: “You have brought the TSV into shape, the membership numbers prove it.”
In his welcoming speech, Mayor Michael Hetzl addressed the club’s financial situation: “The city of Mühldorf will cover the club’s energy costs for one year. We as a city want to sustainably improve the financially difficult situation of TSV Mühldorf. Solidarity is important in the club, you all have to stick together.” On the subject of the hall, the city leader emphasized that the city’s three primary school gymnasiums were also in need of renovation. We are working on a constructive solution.
Erwinzeug said: “The ‘Silent Stars in the Club’ program has now been started; the BLSV is able to honor 23 people in the district who do not hold a position in a club, but support it tirelessly. TSV Mühldorf is a great club, everything fits. You notice it when you walk in the door.”

The finale was the honors, where Stefan Schörghuber particularly singled out Hans Trommler. He has been there since 1964 and was department head in judo for 41 years, where he holds the sixth Dan master degree, a title that is rarely achieved. He is still in the hall as a coach for young talent – an achievement that deserves respect.
