These Badminton World Federation Grade 3 International Challenge events drew athletes from 16 nations to the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium,showcasing the archipelago’s growing prominence in the sport.

Guerrero believes these tournaments offer an exceptional prospect for growth and learning.This isn’t the CNMI’s first foray into hosting prestigious badminton events.In 2023,the islands made history by welcoming two Olympic qualifiers: the Crowne plaza Northern Marianas Open 2023 and the TakeCare Saipan International 2023. This two-week event attracted over 200 participants, including players, coaches, and officials, representing 19 countries. Badminton Oceania president Loke Poh Wong commended the Northern Marianas Badminton Association for successfully placing the CNMI on the global badminton map.
