The Cuban Judo School representing the Club Sportivo Villa Cubas, obtained two medals in the National Judo Clausura Championship, which took place days ago in the province of Jujuy. In a contest where all the provinces and federations of the country participated with a participation of 1,200 judokas, the School’s podiums came through:
Benicio Córdoba with a silver medal and Malena Álvarez Córdoba with a bronze medal, in addition to Ludmila Pereira with a 5th place diploma and Benjamín Moya with a participation diploma.
The performance of the medalists Benicio Córdoba and Malena Álvarez Córdoba stood out, who are congratulated for the results achieved and competitive performance in the national competition.
Moya participated in Infantiles B -48 Kg, 21 competitors participated, carrying out his first fight against the champion of said category, and after losing to him he was eliminated because the simple repechage system was used. Unfortunately, he did not have the opportunity to continue fighting in the repechage in search of third place and lost the opportunity to demonstrate his technical-competitive preparation against the other opponents.
Meanwhile, Pereira, Bronze medalist of the National Apertura, debuted for the first time in the +52 Kg division where 16 judokas participated, finishing in 5th place, a creditable result since the other competitors presented a heavier weight than hers.
