Vincent Quirion will chair the 46th Beauceron Sports Merit Gala

SPORTS. Vincent Quirion, originally from Saint-Georges and now a resident of Sainte-Marie, will be the honorary president of the 46e Beauceron Sports Merit Gala. The event will be held on May 10, 2025 at the Caztel Center in Sainte-Marie.

Mr. Quirion has been involved for many years in a sport that he is particularly passionate about, baseball. Throughout his career, he has worn different hats, including player, coach, referee and scorer. The Beauceron was also involved in training the next generation of scorers and referees. Since 2021, he is also the official host of the 4 Knights, a fast-pitch comedy team.

A new Élitas, the Inclusion – Cogeco prize, will be awarded during this 46e edition of the event. This aims to highlight the inclusion of people with disabilities in physical, sporting and outdoor activities offered within the Beauceron community. Four major values, namely inclusion, surpassing, innovation and sustainability as well as awareness will be highlighted for this category.

The nomination period is now open. It is possible to complete the form, available on the website meritesportifbeauceron.com/fr/inscription, until February 7. The performances must have been completed between January 1 and December 31, 2024. Last year, Charline Bourque, judoka from Saint-Alfred, won the Golden Élitas at the 45th Gala held in Saint-Georges. Saint-Georges strongman Sam Lachance and Saint-Odilon-de-Cranbourne professional hockey player Emmy Fecteau won the silver and bronze Elites respectively. Seventy-five athletes, teams and organizations were honored during this evening.
