seed of champions – shiai – Loire junior and junior championship
This weekend took place the first “Graine de champions” event organized by the Loire Committee. 80 mini chicks and chicks were present. For this first event, it was the department’s professors who hosted the morning. The next one will take place in January and will be hosted by young champions.
At the same time, Romain Mathilde and Axelle were in Lyon on the shiais. Romain scores 20 points for his 2nd dan and Mathilde pockets 40 points for her 2nd dan as well. A great performance for a recovery after several years. Finally Axelle wins all her fights of the day and directly validates her points for the 4th dan.
Saturday afternoon took place the Loire championships for cadets. In -60kg, Matthias takes third place after three victories. In -66kg, Nathan and Ethan both finished in third place after three victories. In the same category Valentin ranks 2nd. A nice performance for a 1st year cadet, in a new category. Finally Nicolas ranks 7th. In -73kg, Lucas managed to climb to third place.
Among the girls, Alicia finished 2nd in -63kg. Jessica (-70kg) and Marine (-57kg) both finished in first place.
They all qualify for the next stage on December 15 in Yssingeaux.
Sunday, it was the turn of the minis to carry out their Loire championship. In -42kg, Tom finished 3rd after 4 victories. In the -46kg category, Ronan and Lého both mastered their fights to find themselves in the final. A tight final which ended in a decision in favor of Lého. In -50kg, Léo was able to manage his various fights of the day to reach the final. He finished 2nd. In the same category, Adam finished 7th. Finally, Ishak finished 1st in -73kg.
Among the girls, Lilly won her fight of the day in -40kg to win the gold medal. Fantine finished 3rd in -44kg just like Lisa in -48kg. In this same category, Melena finished 5th, losing in place of 3 against Lisa. In -52kg, Cléa mastered her competition and won the gold medal. This confirms the progress observed since the start of the season. Finally, in -57kg, Marion finished in 5th place and Charlie managed to win gold. We will meet them for their interdepartmental championship in Andrézieux in January.
Finally, Sunday ended with Marine’s black belt. She validates her UV4, the last UV missing to win this long-awaited belt. Marine took up judo at the age of 5 at the Montbrison club. Trained by Alban MADEC, Marine joined us this year. Gifted since she was little, Marine was slowed down in her progress following an elbow injury, keeping her away from the tatami mats for a year. She was able to bounce back and make a winning return to competition by winning her place for the French junior championships. A nice performance after years without doing judo. Always motivated and determined, this black belt enhances her judokate journey. Congratulations to her and to her trainer, Alban, who would also be proud of her.
