It has been online for almost a year and is available free of charge to all members of the DBV regional associations – the new framework training concept (RTK) online. A lot has happened since then: Many regional associations have spread the RTK, trained trainers in further training both “live” and online and integrated it into their own training or training concept.
But not only has something changed among the trainers, the platform itself is also in constant development. To this end, the DBV was able to continue to recruit the author of the “Starting Version 2024”, Diemo Ruhnow, on a project basis in order to incorporate current ideas, new findings and other content into the RTK online.
Last month, a new training stage – the GAMEbasics – was activated as a second training level in order to emphasize even more clearly the importance of a solid training basis and to somewhat straighten out the “FUNdamentals” stage, but at the same time supplement it.
There are also some further developments this month. One of them reflects the direct implementation and transfer of findings from the international youth sector, while the other will be a great help for the trainers in better linking and building on the variety of training content. All changes are also recorded in a new menu item under “News” within the RTK.
In September, the coaching circle of the regional associations involved in the U15 measure as well as the national coaches analyzed, among other things, the previous U15 European Championships (September 2024 in Poland). One of the central topics was competition. As early as 2005, the then national coach Detlef Poste and national youth coach Holger Hasse described the sport of badminton as a “duel sport about space and time” in their “Image of Badminton” (e.g. as part of the DBV A coach training). Internationally, in the youth sector, alongside Denmark, the French are currently the measure of all things. This is also shown by the medal table at the European Youth Championships, which took place in Ibiza this week: 3 titles out of 4 final appearances went to France. The intensity and competitiveness of the French players stands out, especially in the younger age groups. In order to bring this duel character even more to the fore, the first step was to adapt the respective goals of the various training stages to suit the age.
That’s how it is, for example. For example, it is important that when learning hitting and running techniques, a high level of intensity is trained, taking into account a competition or tactical situation. Particularly in the lower stages of training, it is not a matter of finely perfecting all movements, but rather of training many movement patterns and being able to apply them in a sport-specific manner (i.e. at high competition speeds). To make it clearer: “Learn to Play” is not about perfecting the delayed clear from a standing start, but rather being able to recall the important principles of the delayed clear even under stress and at high speed.
The revised goals can be found in the RTK under “Training Structure” and “Goals”.
Another innovation concerns the technique training (hitting and running technique) in the first four training stages. The various training contents have so far been arranged chronologically, but only within each individual training stage. The “requirements” have now been added to each training content. This makes the learning lines between the different stages even clearer. The trainers can now not only find out about the individual training content and watch numerous methodical videos, but also recognize which training content should be preceded (i.e. have already been trained) in order to be able to better assess what foundations are in place or may still be laid have to be.
These “requirements” can be found in the RTK under “Training structure” and e.g. B. “Strike or running technique”.
But that’s not all: Further additions are in the works – the next one to make the introduction and familiarization easier for the trainers. Therefore: Stay tuned and help bring the RTK to the base.
