Verona is about to move on from Maurizio Setti to Presidio Investorsan American private equity group based in Austinin Texasspecializing in small and medium sized company operations.
To manage the club after its establishment, Presidio Investors has already chosen who will be the CEO of the new Verona course. This is an old acquaintance of Italian football like Italo Zanzi.
Who is Italo Zanzi – His career in handball, then CONCACAF, MLB and Rome
Born in New York on March 18, 1974, Zanzi gained experience in the world of football at high levels working until October 2011 as general secretary of CONCACAFthe confederation that brings together North and Central America, and helping to found the Overseas Champions League, named CONCACAF Champions League.
Zanzi also boasts experience inarea marketing and in the sale of radio-TV rights for Major League Baseball and it was candidate for the Republicans in the 2006 elections.
A passion for sport that comes from afar and which saw him on the front line as a young man handball player in the role of goalkeeper and which sees him get to the US national teamwith whose shirt he made 75 appearances in international matches and won one bronze medal at the 2003 Pan American Games. He was named to the Olympic Handball Team of the Year in 2000, 2002 and 2004.
Infone, from 2012 to 2016 held the role of CEO at Rome under the management of James Pallotta. And it was from Serie A that Zanzi’s career in the world of football restarted.
