Back on Saturday on the national junior circuit, the Bourges Judo fighter showed herself quickly to win in the under 52 kilo category.
Although she did not succeed in doing well last month at the French senior championships, Sarah Bothy is one of the best fighters of her generation. Currently third in the national ranking list among juniors (-52 kg), Berruyère enforced the hierarchy on Saturday in Poitiers (Vienna).
During this junior excellence tournament, Sarah Bothy was confronted with two opponents who were members of the Top 10 and showed authority to win. In the final, Meriem Mellouani (AC Boulogne-Billancourt, eighth in the junior ranking list) was unable to do anything against the Bourges Judo member.
“She won four times by ippon in her four matches thanks to her qualities on the ground,” appreciates her trainer Kévin Égré. It’s a victory in style! She was full of confidence for the future. »
Next, in the short term, will be participation in the super excellence junior tournament in Aix-en-Provence, mid-December. The Berruyère fighter will meet the best French and Japanese in her category on this occasion. A big test in perspective.
