As vehicles traverse the bridge above, a diverse community of sports enthusiasts gathers below, transforming the space into a vibrant hub of athleticism.
On a typical evening, the air is filled with the rhythmic thwack of badminton rackets, the cheers of football players, and the focused breaths of volleyball enthusiasts. Seven dedicated sports venues offer a comprehensive range of facilities, catering to a wide spectrum of ages and interests. From basketball courts to football pitches, badminton courts to volleyball nets, Shun Shui Bridge’s underbelly provides a welcoming space for individuals of all fitness levels to engage in their chosen sport.
This thriving sports community reflects a growing global trend towards active lifestyles. According to recent studies, participation in recreational sports has surged in recent years, driven by a desire for improved physical and mental well-being. “这里层高约7米，桥面宽度足有二十余米，相当于可以并排建设四个羽毛球标准场地。”极迈体育的何志刚教练介绍着自家场地，“相比于露天场地，桥下球场自带避雨功能，又通风透气，边上还有免费的公共停车场，广受运动爱好者欢迎。”

舜水大桥自北向南跨姚江、世南东路、北兰江东路及最良江，全长1287.6米，有着广阔的桥下空间，我市充分利用城市“边角料”，完善城市体育设施建设，“解锁”市民家门口的“运动自由”。
气排球是老年人喜欢的运动之一。每天早上、中午，舜水大桥下的余姚市阳光气排球俱乐部里都是上了年纪的面孔。而到了晚上，这里的面孔又会换成刚下班的年轻人、中年人。“我们是公益气排球俱乐部，场地不收费，只要喜欢就能一起来玩。”阳光气排球俱乐部负责人潘建设说，“我们这些气排球爱好者还经常组织起来参加宁波市的比赛，近期我们刚获得宁波市气排球等级联赛中年女子组冠军。”
羽毛球运动
2024年年底开业的“锦山体育”的负责人鲁利迪是一名羽毛球爱好者。当时发现市内羽毛球场馆少，出于热爱，他决定开一家自己的球馆。经过多地选址考察，他最终敲定了舜水大桥的桥下空间。目前，他的球馆面积达2000多平方米，环境宽敞明亮，场地专业，众多羽毛球爱好者在这里相约打球。当被记者问及桥上车来车往产生的噪音是否会对运动产生干扰时，刚运动完、冒着热汗的市民周丽浓连连摆手，说道：“我们全身心都扑在打球上，基本听不到噪音。”
从杂草丛生的荒地到如今运动爱好者的聚集地，这片城市的“边角料”有了新价值，也成了余姚市民家门口的小美好。
