Collaborating with the State Sports Institute, we kicked off the event with a grand Calenda parade through the city’s main streets, celebrating Mexico’s rich cultural and sporting heritage. Among these, Purépecha pelota, a pre-Hispanic game, gained notable traction, with 10 states participating in both men’s and women’s categories.Campeche, supported by its Sports Institute, hosted the event, making it a memorable sports spectacle,” Collado García noted.
In july, the Purépecha National Pelota Championship took place at the National school of Sports Coaches (ENED), drawing 180 young athletes across both categories. Additionally,a referee certification workshop was held,with 40 participants earning their credentials.
On the global stage, FMJDAT represented Mexico at the 5th World Nomad Games in Astana, Kazakhstan, in September, competing in mental skill games like Toguz Kumalak and Oware.
