Young Archers Shine at Castelfranco Emilia and Fano
The indoor archery season is heating up, with competitions taking place across Italy. This past weekend saw young archers from Ravenna’s Arcieri Bizantini club competing in two separate tournaments: the “12th Trofeo del Forte” in Castelfranco Emilia and the “37th Torneo Città di Fano”.
In Castelfranco Emilia, the Pinocchio group, comprised of under-12 and Giovanissimi archers, delivered an notable performance. the girls’ team secured their second consecutive podium finish in the Giovanissimi female OL class, with Anna Maria Shengelia, Noemi Della Rocca, and Sara Baldini claiming the gold medal with a score of 1128, surpassing their previous best.
While no individual podiums were achieved, the young athletes demonstrated notable progress, setting numerous personal bests. Anna Maria Shengelia placed 5th with 410 points, Noemi Della Rocca secured 6th place and a personal best of 406 points, Sara Baldini achieved 8th place and a personal best of 312 points, and Emily Bazzocchi finished 9th with a new personal best of 147 points. Michelangelo Merengo represented the boys’ team, finishing 7th with 184 points.
Meanwhile, in fano, senior and master archers competed in the “37th Torneo Città di Fano”. The team secured a silver medal, showcasing their skill and experience.These recent competitions highlight the growing talent within the Arcieri Bizantini club, with both young and experienced archers achieving impressive results. As the indoor season progresses, it will be exciting to see what further accomplishments these dedicated athletes achieve.

Marco: I was incredibly impressed. This age group is all about growth and laying a strong foundation. to see such a decisive victory, coupled with several personal best scores, speaks volumes about the dedication and guidance these young archers are receiving. It’s a testament to the work of their coaches and the strong team spirit they’ve cultivated.

Marco: indeed. She’s a natural athlete with a keen eye and remarkable focus. Remember, at this age, consistency is key. Building those fundamentals now will pay off tremendously as she progresses in her archery journey.
