Family Fun Takes Flight at Lochem Badminton Club
The Lochem Badminton Club (BCL) hosted a highly accomplished parent-child tournament on Thursday, January 9th, reigniting a beloved tradition after a brief hiatus. The event was met with enthusiastic participation and left the club beaming with satisfaction.
Ten eager teams battled it out across five courts, experiencing the thrill of competitive play. The tournament’s unique format saw winning teams advance to higher-ranked courts, while those who lost moved down, adding an element of dynamic progression to the competition.
The atmosphere was electric with laughter and camaraderie as children and parents alike showcased their badminton skills. Every child received a well-deserved prize of their choosing, while parents were gifted commemorative keychains adorned with shuttlecocks and rackets.
Following the tournament, the BCL extended the festivities with a sweet treat for the young participants and refreshing beverages for the adults in the Beemd canteen.
For those inspired to pick up a racket, the BCL welcomes new members of all ages. Youth training sessions are held every Thursday from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sporthal De Beemd. Adults can join in on the fun with playing and training sessions on Mondays and Thursdays from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
