mario Balotelli recently vented his frustrations on social media, shedding light on his challenging stint with Genoa in the Italian football league.
Since joining the team in 2024, the ex-Italy star has faced limited opportunities on the field, sparking widespread speculation about his future.
Despite signing a seasonal contract in October, the 34-year-old has only managed to play 56 minutes across six games,a stark contrast to his expectations.
Reports from Calciomercato.com reveal that Balotelli is growing increasingly disheartened by his lack of involvement and is now in talks to mutually terminate his contract.
In a candid Instagram Story, the seasoned forward urged fans to refrain from speculating about his next move, stating,“Please don’t start making up where I’m going and what I’m going to do.”
He further emphasized, ”I am still a Genoa player, even if no one wants me to be. above all, I respect the fans and the ‘club.’”
Notably, Balotelli placed the word ”club” in quotes, hinting at his strained relationship with the coaching staff.

Balotelli’s move to Genoa was orchestrated by former coach Alberto Gilardino in October, but Gilardino’s tenure was short-lived, as he was swiftly replaced by Patrick Vieira.
The Italian striker and Vieira share a history from their time together at Nice in France, though their rapport was far from amicable. Balotelli has previously cited Vieira as a key reason for his departure from the French club.
In recent weeks, Balotelli has been absent from Genoa’s lineup, with his last appearance dating back to December 21 against Napoli, where he was on the pitch for a mere seven minutes.
