Emerging victorious in this prestigious event was an incredible honor. Last year, I narrowly missed the top spot, so this win feels particularly sweet. The excited crowd added to the joy, their cheers echoing my own exhilaration. Campaccio truly embodies a sense of family, especially for me. My father, Giuliano, a seasoned competitor himself, has participated numerous times. I vividly remember accompanying him as a child, watching him race. Since 2013, I’ve been a regular participant, progressing from youth categories to the elite level.
Looking ahead to 2025, my primary focus is on maintaining peak physical condition. [Guest Name]: Thank you! it truly was an incredible experience. Campaccio holds such a special place in my heart. Growing up, it was a pilgrimage, watching my father compete. The atmosphere is electric, and to hear the crowd cheering, especially knowing some of them have watched me grow up running this course… there’s just nothing like it.
[Moderator]: Speaking of your father, Giuliano, he’s not just a spectator in your journey, is he? He’s also your coach! What’s it like training under the watchful eye of your dad?
[Guest Name]: It’s definitely unique! We have to be careful to separate the “coach” and “dad” roles sometimes, but ultimately, it’s an incredible blessing. He understands me as a runner, my strengths and weaknesses, in a way that few could. And let’s face it, who else would be willing to make 4:00 AM training runs seem bearable?
[Moderator]: this year seems particularly special for you, not only because of the win but because you were so close to the top spot last year. How did you channel that near miss into this year’s victory?
[Guest Name]: Being that close last year lit a fire under me. It showed me that I was capable of competing at the highest level. I spent the off-season analyzing my performance, refining my training, and really focusing on mental toughness. Campaccio is a challenging course,both physically and mentally.You need to be prepared to dig deep and push through the pain. This year,I was ready.
[Moderator]: And now your sights are set on Tokyo in 2025. What are your plans as you gear towards the World Championships?
[Guest Name]: I know it’s a huge goal, and I’m not taking it lightly.My focus right now is on maintaining peak physical condition. Health is paramount. I’ve learned that the hard way recently. I’ll be working closely with my team, my dad, and focusing on races that align with my World Championship goals.
